​Grand opening of the fully renovated Štanjel Castle

On 18 June 2025, the newly renovated spaces of Štanjel Castle in the Karst were officially opened, including the new events centre in Kobencl Hall on the first floor, Slovenia’s first Museum of the Slovene Language and Book, and the KIŠ Cultural Incubator.

 

In cooperation with the organisers, the Municipality of Komen and ORA Krasa in Brkinov, we delivered the complete production and communication of the event, which also impressed representatives of the Office of the President of the Republic of Slovenia and the Ministry of Culture.

​Castle Aglow with music, dance and poetry

Together with the wider artistic team, director Jaša Koceli, scriptwriter Neja Petek, composer Miha Petric and project manager Tanja Gruden developed an original concept and directed a cultural and artistic programme combining the symbolism of Midsummer Night, the poetry of Srečko Kosovel, original music, dance choreography and performances by different generations.

 

The programme evoked a powerful emotional response and captivated the guest of honour, President of the Republic of Slovenia Dr Nataša Pirc Musar, as well as the keynote speaker, Minister of Culture Dr Asta Vrečko.

Complete event and communication concept

In cooperation with the technical team at DAF Lighting, the Nea Culpa creative team delivered:

• the concept and production of the artistic programme in the hall and the official outdoor opening ceremony with live music,

• the script, original artistic concept and direction,

• the communication concept, invitations and press releases,

• the scenography, developed in cooperation with Društvo Venček.
